Abstract

Sexual satisfaction, as one of the fundamental pillars in marital relationships, plays a significant role in the stability and quality of life of couples. This research aims to investigate the relationship between social capital and sexual satisfaction among the couples based in Tehran in 2024. Social capital, as a multidimensional concept, including intra-group, extra-group, and supra-group dimensions, has been examined in this study. The statistical population of the research consists of 172 couples selected using the convenience sampling method. Data analysis reveals that there is a significant relationship between various dimensions of social capital and couples' sexual satisfaction. Specifically, intra-group social capital has been identified as the strongest predictor of sexual satisfaction. Moreover, extra-group and supra-group social capital have also been significantly associated with sexual satisfaction. The findings of this research suggest that strengthening social capital, particularly in intra-group relationships, can be considered an effective strategy for improving couples' sexual satisfaction. These results emphasize the importance of the role of social and communicative factors in marital life and the necessity of considering these factors in designing intervention programs.
