The Evaluation of Social Capital and its Role on the Performance of Modern Neighborhood Management (case study: Fouladshahr city)

Abstract

Nowadays, with the inefficiency of traditional models of urban management, new models have shifted from a centralized approach to local management. In the meantime, social capital is very important as a background for people's participation and companionship in neighborhood management. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the role on the performance of management and the new neighborhood order in the new city of Fouladshahr. The research method is applied in terms of nature and analytical and survey in terms of implementation and a researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data. The statistical population of the research included residents of 18 years. The sample size of the research was determined through Cochran's formula of 384 people who were selected by cluster sampling method.The findings showed that the status of social capital indicators in Fouladshahr city is favorable from the point of view of the citizens. Also, there is a significant relationship between the indicators of contingent capital and the efficiency of neighborhood management and the variable of social trust and social awareness respectively have the greatest effect on the performance of neighborhood management. The results show that by Involving people in decision-making and decision-making and delegation of authority to neighborhood institutions, the optimal and sustainable management of urban neighborhoods will be realized.
