Abstract

Purpose: In modern era, organizations tend to show the characteristics and goals prevailing the whole organization in every part, so that each part is a mirror representing the whole; This reflects holism in each part and the emergence of holographic organizations. Therefore, the present study aimed to design a holographic organization model for the formation of social capital at the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences. Research Methods: The research was an applied-developmental study that used mixed data. Data for the qualitative section was gathered using semi-structured interviews with22academic and executive elites selected through purposive sampling. In the quantitative section, data was gathered using a questionnaire. The statistical population included820employees of the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, of whom360subjects were selected using random sampling and a logical sample size. Thematic analysis was used to analyze qualitative data, and structural equation modeling were used to analyze quantitative data. Findings: Once the interviews had been implemented, a total of 112key concepts and82themes were extracted. They were organized into21themes.Finally, five holistic themes were obtained through the content categorization of the themes. It was found that the holographic organization model for the formation of social capital at the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences consisted of five holographic structure dimensions, including holographic structure, holographic culture, holographic ethics, holographic human resources, holographic knowledge. Conclusion: As a center for health education and sciences in Iran, the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences requires structural, cultural, ethical, human resource, and knowledge enhancement to become a holographic organization for the formation of social capital.
